Feels like a locals pub and the interior is cosy and eccentric. There's a horse that neighs at you every time someone walks past it! We enjoyed our beers, especially the dunkel (dark beer). There's no menu but the host brings what you want quickly and is very friendly. At one point he came round with free peanut butter crisps! A true gem that is hard to find. This place is just UNBELIEVABLE! A beer pub that serves only Krombacher at such a low price a stuffed horse that neighs, people smoking inside, the whole decoration, the owner... Ivo, thank you very much for everything, keep it up!
I had arranged to meet friends at this bar and was not sure what to expect. I managed to find the bar with help from Google. It is tucked away in the Frankfurt suburbs but not too far from amenities. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the life size horse who neighs at you. It's a really great bar and very welcoming. If you like something a little different and you are in the area this is DEFINTELY THE PLACE TO VISIT.
After reading the quirky on line description of this funky, cellar bar (complete with a large, stuffed horse, which neighs as you walk in) I knew I had to check this place out and it did not disappoint. Ivo, the owner, is a fascinating character, which only enhances the unique experience you will have here. Be prepared, however, that smoking is allowed inside so if you are sensitive to that you might want to sit outside in the summer months.
The patron Ivo and the crazy and run-down interieur form a mixture you haven't seen before. Always busy, always a friendly place to have a beer it is well worth a visit for relaxed people. No Frankfurt attitude, I guarantee you!
