This was the most fun I've had eating in a while. A boisterous welcome from the kitchen staff follows quickly with a hot hand towel. Ordering is simple and quickly delivered. The food is freshly made in front of your eyes and the staff friendly. View all feedback.
What Olga Torp doesn't like about Izakana-ya Okuman:
Used the Groupon deal for four here and order two drinks/chu-hai. The sashimi and sushi were fresh and properly made - it can be told by the shape and the tightness of the rice. Also, the rice they used is not normal rice, which made the sushi a bit special. However, the fried vegetables were not fried properly, probably due to the wrong temperature of oil. The jelly@ didn't taste good either. The service was terrifi... View all feedback.
Beautiful authentic feeling atmosphere in private space, plus fun iPad order service was beautiful and efficient. our person group has been in the separate room on the back where it was shoes-off, and they even ran our shoes away for us to eat ranging from tasty to undercut, depending on the dish the karaage huhn is quite likely the best in brisbane, or at least one of the best. just perfect. the texture, taste quality was perfect the sashimi bento was under average quality for the price the sashimi was not particularly good and the deep fried gyoza were very dry, they would be better damped. regarding the amount, it was a lot of food than...read more
My favourite restaurant in Brisbane. Every part of the experience has intent, the food is fresh and well executed in a gorgeous open kitchen where you can view the masters. Even the homewares add to the experience namely the ENORMOUS ramen bowls. Attention to detail all for a comparable price to your local chinese takeaway, highly recommend
It’s Anzac Day and many restaurants along Boundary Road are packed to the rafters. We get a table at Falalalah but we are told there is a minute wait for meals. Across the road we see Birds Nest Yakitori and Okuman. Walking into Okuman we see it is almost empty. Hallelujah *Large Sashimi is nicely presented. Every Sashimi item is fresh and delicious. Taking value into consideration, this small serving of Sashimi is disappointing *Tempura Platter is piping hot and well prepared. A small serving, it has two Medium Prawns, one slice of Fish and five pieces of assorted Vegetables are all tasty. Japanese restaurants generally serve two Large Tiger Prawns We like our...read more
This place is becoming a go to for lunch. I like the vegan ramen here with extra shallots and chilli. The soup was delicious and a bit salty. Teriyaki chicken is good value for takeaway. Friends had a chicken bento and it looked alright but very fried Need to come in for dinner as the bigger meals look delish and it’s got a great atmosphere.
Eating here is absolutely amazing and some of the best Japanese food I had. I had the karaage cauliflower curry and sweet gyoza. my partner has the spicy pork ramen with extra karaage chicken. we both gave absolutely every dish we were actually twice here and the hostess/cheese we had both had, was so hospitable and very friendly, from the moment we arrived at the moment when we were gone, I would really recommend a delicious meal and a few beers here! good work damen P.s my photo is halfway through eating, since it was absolutely delicious!
