Come hungry, because Madea's serves up generous portions! The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I tried the smothered pork chops, greens, okra and tomatoes, and broccoli cheese rice, all accompanied by their flavorful saltwater cornbread. The red Kool-Aid was a delightful bonus! What Crystal Frazee doesn't like about Madea's Down Home Cooking:
Highly disappointed. Teenager ate a few bites of his beef tips/rice. The dressing was horrible. The meatloaf was ok but almost like a meatloaf soup with all the tomato sauce. Cabbage and greens ok. My 8 yr old said the Mac wasn't good and the corn had no seasoning. He said his baked chicken needed seasoning. Trashed. A waste of over $50. Maybe we got the wrong menu items bc I don't see from our experience what all th... View all feedback.
Came was based only on the reputation of Google reviews and we loved it. Yes, a little expensive, but you get some HUGE portions and high-quality food. (Honestly, the woman and I could have shared a meal) Highlights were beef tips and rice and Mac and cheese. Honestly, although everything was good. Chef Steve is a master! We'll be back soon!
Overall the food was great, I didn’t realize you could change the order of Beef Tips/Rice to Beef Tips over Mashed Potato. My table’s other entrees: Chicken Spaghetti (excellent) and Fried Pork Chop (excellent). Veggies: Yams (excellent), Greens (excellent), Okra/Tomato (good), Broccoli/Cheese Casserole (good), mac/cheese (just ok). Dessert: Peach Cobbler (excellent). Hot Water Cornbread was excellent. I would return to see how the Beef Tips would taste with the Mashed Potato. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant…excellent customer service.
Mmm mmmm good!! As always lines are long but it's DEFINITELY worth the wait to get some home-made tasty food. The kool-aid is soooooo GOODT!! They always take good care of me every time I visit......HEYYYY STEVIE it's Kay with an A (insider)
Fish was fresh and hot. Yams were good not too sweet but just right. Didn’t particularly like the broccoli rice and cheese, a little extra wet and lacks flavor. Gravy over the rice was delicious. Would have preferred white bread over the hush puppies. Husband said the strawberry cake was moist and delicious. Overall pretty good.
Enjoyed my lunch! This spot came highly recommend. I have heard several church members as well as family members speak about this restaurant. When my co workers said they were going here for lunch I jumped in the !! I really enjoyed the yams and
