Hiram’s in Fort Lee, NJ, is a beloved local gem known for its classic hot dogs, including deep-fried varieties and fantastic onion rings. The nostalgic atmosphere, friendly staff, and reasonable prices add to its charm. While the cheesedog is a simple hot dog with a cheese slice rather than cheese sauce, the overall experience remains satisfying. Outdoor picnic tables and indoor seating are available, but cash-only payment and limited parking require planning. Regulars praise Hiram’s as a top contender among regional hot dog spots, making it a must-visit for those seeking hearty, no-frills American comfort food.

Was Tim Stolarz at Hiram's a mag?
Hiram's is just as good, if not better, than Rutts Hut. The onion rings are amazing as well. I highly recommend trying Hiram's hot dogs. However, the cheese dog was simply a regular hot dog with a slice of cheese underneath—no cheese sauce or anything fancy. Just something to keep in mind. View all feedback.

What jason dessereau dislikes about Hiram's:
Was just not that good. First off a cheesedog is not a hotdog with a slice of kraft thrown on the bun. The onion rings were a pile of grease and the server while friendly seemed like shees seen too many work days and needed to smoke a pack of parliaments. Definitely 100 points for nostalgia and decor as well as prices and birch beer on tap. Sadly the reason to go here wasnt as impressive View all feedback.

I live near another iconic hot dog spot called Hot Dog Johnny's in Belvidere, Warren County (I’m from Hackettstown), and while Johnny's is excellent in its own right, it can't compare to Hiram's. I still need to try the two legendary places in Clifton, Rhutt’s Hutt and the Hot Grill, as well as the birthplace of the "Italian" dog, Jimmy Buff’s, but I doubt any of them will be able to dethrone Hiram’s from the top of my hot dog hierarchy.

Delicious as always... Just like I remember it just like I wanted it to be... One of the best hot dogs out there.

We 're not here for froufrou , just tasty food and cold beverages... and they deliver on that! The staff is alert, attentive and friendly. And, the deep fried hotdogs are awesome! I like them with raw onions, mustard ketchup. Add sauerkraut at no extra charge.
