in vacation and this is our perfect opportunity to start our day for the next 45! Eating is excellent, our server was fantastic and you can not beat the outside terrace with the view! my man had huevos rancheros, his favorites, and I enjoyed quite well. I especially like the Arugula salad being served. I look forward to the return tomorrow! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about El Vez-ft. Lauderdale:
The good: street corn was delicious. The guacamole (classic) was delicious. The hostess at the front was friendly. The not so good: the table we sat at was so dark you had to use your phone to see the menu and food. The staff was spread thin (again a common theme among all restaurants). The chicken tortilla soup was not very flavorful, missing key ingredients. The soup had chunks of chicken instead of pulled chicken.... View all feedback.
Nice location off Ft. Lauderdale Beach, beautiful view from patio. We dined inside, staff was very kind attentive! ? Restaurant has personality, with high-spirited decor; is clean; menu graphics are very clever engaging. Chips guacamole were ?delisioso.? Upon arrival, my guest?s shrimp tacos were very ?Tex-Mex? a little ?too greasy? she shared. And, I?m disappointed to say that although my salad had good flavors the list of vegetables in the ingredients seemed bountiful as described by menu, but, after it arrived it looked as if it was missing half. Everything was diced very fine (hence the name ?chopped? but let?s actually make it a ?meal? by throwing in .50 cents more beets, more anything it wasn?t ?bad? it just didn?t meet expectations. And, it wasn?t something I couldn?t have made at home for $3. of ingredients (a margin king for food costs, but not a good customer value . Overall, for location, pricing seemed fair until the bill arrived two ?pedestrian? (read: mediocre cups of coffee were $12., even with prices rising everywhere that seemed somewhat exorbitant. Go for the view location, skip the salad. (Discounted parking validation is a plus.
Good middle of the street Mexican farewell. The mucho Nachos were excellent and served on a pizza table that was a great presentation. They tasted excellent. We also had two orders from Tacos, Chicken and Steak. The steak left much to wish, but the chicken was wonderful. Overall service was OK, food was good, but nothing remarkable. The prices were the same with other places, but only do not really deliver on value or experience to be somewhere, I would go back.
A special guess of NC visited the week. I wanted to treat her for a nice evening on the beach. Call ahead and ask if we need reservations and if we can get a table with a view. NO reservations were needed and there are a lot of outdoor seats. What they do not mention was the hotel under renovations and the view was blocked by a hidden plastic like shield. There was no table with a view. We were so disappointed. The service was bad. Our server was friendly but never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything or to see if we were satisfied. The Ceviche was delicious, but tried not to bring the attention of our server to me a spoon. The drinks were terrible.....glass filled with ice, so you really pay for a sip or 2 of the drink. We are regularly at the W as guests and Steak 954, which below I gave a Raving Review. So, you could imagine my disappointment and embarrassment for us special guest visiting Florida for the first time. The guacamole was tasteless and the chips were served warm, but felt like old. All in all a terrible experience.
This is a great place to take a bite after you have met the beach or pool. I loved the vampiro taco. The Nachos and Enchiladas were also very good. The terrace is shaded for most part with a beautiful breeze and tables are quite well spaced, which is appreciated. You can make a reservation on an open table.

For the price I would steer clear. If it were at a different price point , I would recommend.
