I've been to fox in the corn and few times. It a very simple menu, but everything I've had there is hearty and delicious. My personal favourites are the creamy pesto or the creamy carbonara, my bf loves the beef ragu! There is also an extensive list of beers to try as well! View all feedback.

Surprise sixtieth birthday party last night at the Fox In The Corn which turned out to be a very good night. Every one enjoyed there pasta dishes and also the pizzas.Wife and I shared a small margarita for starters, she had pesto with spaghetti I had the carbonara. I very very rarely have pasta when out to dinner as I am always disappointed as I cook better at home. Anyway both dishes were very good. The pasta itself was very good quality. The pizza also was great with quality fresh dough (you can tell) lovely crunch and texture. Other members of our group had the Beef Raghu with ravioli lovely rich sauce. The salads were fresh with a tangy dressing. The huge range of quality beers, local and international, either on tap or bottle created some confusion for choice a nice problem to solve through by trying the tasting paddle they offer. However the wine list requires some attention e.g, no Sav Blanc for the ladies either by the glass or bottle was possible and the red wines by the glass and range on offer is very mediocre. The only white wine by the glass available was a Chenin Blanc; a little too fruity for any dish on the menu. Being classified as an 'Italian Restaurant' a good variety of either light to medium bodied or full bodied Australian wines or even Italian would up the appeal of the the menu and the dinning experience. If not this then recommending beers that match dishes would be convenient and add to the kudos of the place. The room is pretty spartan with cluncky looking pine booths tables and chairs and customer comfort issue with the setting sun and the blinds/window set up. Nevertheless there's a nice buzzy vibe in the place - come and try yourself, I'll be back soon.TheosTruthFoodie - The Truth the Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth.
One of the new-wave restaurants of Footscray and frankly it was great in every way.A small, well-chosen menu that doesn't bombard you with choices.I had the carbonara which, I should add, was easily the best I've had in memory. The serving size was perfect. I was hungry and it left me full but not stuffed.Good tables too - nice size and good distance. If you're after some very solid pasta, I don't think you could go wrong here. For the obligatory negative, the desert was 'fine' rather than great. Go entree and main over main and desert.
Four of us enjoyed the pasta and tasted several unusual beers. Just a short walk from the train station.
I try to catch up with my friend on the weekly basis. I do this so he doesn't talk the entire time, trying to catch me up on multiple weeks worth of talk. He has recently been sick, so our plans did have to change, but dinner was on for Monday. He was looking better and so we decided to skip the 8 bit burgers and grab some fancy pasta! They seemed to be a bit more busy then they expected for a Monday night, so service was a bit late, though that was no bother to us. Foods include pasta and pizzas and also some salads. Decided for the ravioli, spinach and ricotta with pancetta. THERE WERE SO MANY SAUCES TO CHOOSE FROM! My friend went for the classic spaghetti and meatballs. We also decided to have some Italian soda, which was served in fancy glasses. We were celebrating my graduation, I guess. They also serve beer, spirits and I heard cocktails, though I didn't try them on the night. Food was so filling we didn't go for dessert, instead a nice stroll around Footscray, talking more about our lives. Would I go there again? Yes, and this time try the cocktails!
