I worked here for a year, and I have to say there’s no other place like it. I'm not usually one for bars, but I really loved the atmosphere! It was such a great vibe. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mcfadden's Saloon:
We visited this restaurant before heading to a Subway Series game at Citi Field. As expected, it was extremely crowded, and initially, we had a hard time locating our friends. View all feedback.
Unfortunately, it's only open during Mets home games (it opens about two hours BEFORE game time, and closes about two hours AFTER game time). The establishment is attached to the stadium, and you can enter the game from the establishment (with a valid ticket, of course), but once you come back to McFadden's, you can't re-enter the game again (unless you buy another game ticket), which is kind of silly, in my opinion. McFadden's is very spacious, and the air conditioning is ample (thank goodness). They have several bartenders, so the service is always good. They also have a live DJ, who loves interacting with the crowd. The food is also good, and better than ballpark prices. Ample seating for dining. This place is pretty big. The bathrooms have attendants (which I personally find to be an annoyance, but to each their own).
Good place to go for a little pre game, nice variety of IPA's, the Homerun platter enough for two, staff attentive
Stopped in to get some food before a Mets game. Had a Blue Moon on tap and the pork sliders. Beer was good but no orange slice ? Pork sliders were very good but so tiny.
We had great time after the Mets game. They have a fabulous beer selection, and the atmosphere is very festive. The bar tenders are a lot of fun, and it's great to be there during a playoff game. With every basket the crowd was cheering. I highly recommend coming here for a big game, it was a great time!
The positive: the bar is connected to the stadium. The negative: you can't hold a conversation because the music is too loud! It is more of a nightclub/disco than a saloon. You pay ballpark prices so you may as well enter the stadium as the food choices are way better than at this place. They have a lot of screens to watch games (not hear because the noise level is so loud) but no main screen mostly standard screens that you find in someones home. Not worth it.
