Great discovery in the mountains! A great fresh seafood joint with a beautiful sampling of speciality and fantastic local oysters. The rider was excellent. Classic pages of frits and an ingeniously perfectly seasoned Koleslaw were great. I had a cup of the clam chowder....it was as hearty as many full bowls and spiced. 24 designs delivered a nice sampling with a good local slim variety. It was easy to find a good num... What Deb Manka doesn't like about Surf N Brew:
Shrimp and chicken was cold, Mac cheese looked liked it was leftover from a long time ago in a hard lump, my salad had slimy black brown lettuce and cucumbers that looked like they had froze or were rotten. This place has really gone downhill. We will never go back again. View all feedback.
After an hour near Asheville stopped on the traffic, hungry and a little tired. It was Mother's day and there was a smudge of a wait, but not long. Sah at the bar and was served by a beautiful, high-energy young lady. I had Calamari for an app and grilled shrimps, fried oysters and circumcisions. Everything was great. The Calamari was small and delicate, and there were some tentacles in there, my favorite, perfectly roasted, the grilled little ones were small, but tasty and the fried oysters were beautifully large and perfectly seasoned. The pommes were disappointing, but with all the other cold pommes there was no problem. In addition, I got a single red rose, a real rose. How thoughtful!!!! Only one head up, for Father's day they give out screwdrivers. will return
Traveling and always try to eat a non chain restaurant. This place did not disappoint. You know it's going to be good when you can't decide what to eat based on all the awesome choices on the menu. We were a party of 5 and all ordered something different. Not a complaint amongst the group, except maybe the burgers were huge! If your in the area stop and try this place.
My wife and I were in Fletcher North Carolina. Someone had told us about this little fish place. We thought we'd check it out. Very nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly as could be. I ordered the fried cod basket. My wife had the oyster Po boy. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to go back. Good value for the money.
Stopped in for lunch. The food was great and so was Suzy, our server. We had calamari, crab balls, a fried shrimp basket, a lightly blacked Mahi-mahi basket, and a Great Smokey Mountain burger. Everything was delicious. They also had a good selection of local beer.
I am always looking for a better than good fish place. I found it here. The fish and chips is a top five for me. The fish was very tender (melt in your mouth), not greasy, and has great flavor. The clam chowder was very good as well, a bit thick but I think it was just my cup, my husbands wasn?t as thick. My husband got the blackened mahi-mahi tacos. He loved the flavor and freshness. My daughter got the shrimp and fries which was also good. The waitress asked us if we had been there before and we said no. She said you will be back and she is right we will be back. They have great specials throughout the week. A great family restaurant
