The burger was great it was hand made. It was really filling. The waitress was really nice, a good mix of friendly and professional. We sat on the patio and was a really nice evening. We went early evening and it got very busy. We went at the right time. As we were leaving there was a very big que. View all feedback.
What Gordon S doesn't like about The Goofie Newfie bar & Grill:
Was in Fergus and decided to try eating there as wife had recommendations to try the Seafood chowder. She enjoyed it and I had the Fish and chips unfortunately, the batter was so thick and the fish so small but the chips was tasty. Might visit again as the view of the river was great View all feedback.
Make a detour and hit this place! DELISH! I happened upon it as it's near by dog breeder (Goldnote Goldens) and passed by this gem. WOW am I glad I stopped. The food is spectacular and the staff are super friendly. I'd highly recommend the Goofie Newfie!
Friends in the area suggested we try Goofie Newfie for supper one evening. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and managed to get a table overlooking the River Grand. Service was excellent, prompt and very friendly. Food was very good as was the selection of local beers. Will definitely go again.
A must place to visit during the Fergus Scottish Festival! Next to the river, and next to history, you will eat good food that goes from the greasy one to the healthy one. The drinks were really good, the ambiance relax and it's one of those places were we go everytime we're in town
This restaurant is a bit hard to find, around the back of a long building facing the river. The search was worth it. After a round of golf, all four of us enjoyed our food and drinks. I had the lobster mac and cheese, others had the baked haddock. No complaints. A truly Newfie atmosphere here, and they actually serve Newfie round steak! A quite diverse menu. Might try the lobster rolls next time.
While in Fergus on our Ready for a Road Trip through Guess Where Trips this place was written up in our Guide and while viewing the River and Gorge from Templin Gardens on the other side saw it and walked the Bridge to get to it. What a view from the Patio overlooking the River ! Great service accompanied the great food. I had the Canadian Smash Burger and fries (delicious) and my wife had the Cod Scrunchions Grilled Cod, mashed, grilled root vegetables, beets and a small side of slaw. She savoured every mouth full. The Newfoundland art work and murals inside (including the washrooms) made for an extra pleasing experience. We 'll certainly stop here again when in the area !
