If you are in Faro you should really try this. A little far from the center but well worth going to. The freshest fish, and plenty of locals who know the good stuff. Try anything they recommend you. We were the first customers to the restaurant therefore all the tables were empty. When approaching the table of our choice the young waitress told us we were NOT to sit at that table and she showed us to the draughty back of the restaurant by the broken mirror and the small drinks kitchen. Simple restaurant away from the town centre, good ambiance and food. Customers seem mostly 'regulars ', very few tourists. Principal dishes are grilled fish and shell fish. It is where we always have lunch when we go to Faro.
Great little fish place and a perfect traditional lunchtime spot. Fish is freshly caught and cooked to perfection over coals. Lovely family who work hard to make this place a tasty treat...no expensive either
We have been in this restaurant with the family. The fish is great, possibly one of the best places to have great grilled fish in Faro. The service is great and very friendly. The family has enjoyed it very much and we keep returning back. We do recommend this restaurant. Do arrive early for lunch as it gets packed quite fast.
This is surely one of the most consistently busy restaurants in Faro, famous for fish and popular mostly with Faronese. The waiter introduces one to the available fish. I had sea bream with lots of boiled potatoes, over which I dribbled extra virgin olive oil. It was great. The service was cheerful and really friendly. One of my favourite local restaurants for sure.
Had a pleasant lunch experience with excellent fresh grilled tuna and mixed salad. The service was quite professional as in the past times, being the noise the only negative point in the main dinning room as the outside terrace was naturally closed. In my point of view A Gruta offers a very good quality/price lunch.
