A very old school family-run vibe. In a day of chain restaurants I appreciate this. The linguine and clams were delicious, and both the lasagna and shrimp scampi were also quite good. The wine selection is small, but when you have quality table wines with generous pours, who cares. I would certainly return anytime. View all feedback.
What Koolintra doesn't like about The Italian Cafe:
The food was terrible, I literally could make this pasta at home as a child not gifted in the culinary field. And for $17?? Service was slow as well, took almost an hour from when we went into the store to our main entree to arrive to the table. And why is there a sign saying bon appetit in an Italian restaurant??? Had one of my favorite dishes, Cannelloni with white sauce. The staff did a wonderful job taking care of our table.
Well, the atmosphere the friendly but the service wasn't great (bit rude) and I'm pretty sure the garlic bread was Texas Toast... They were also out of nearly every dessert. The rest of the food was ok, though my friends said her dish tasted recently defrosted... The free bread was nice, I guess. All in all, a bit disappointed.

Delicious veal lunch, tasty sauce and complete with toast almond tiramisu. Meal was priced
Best bang for your buck Italian restaurant in the D.C. area that I've been to. Food was delicious. I can't believe I haven't gone here sooner!
