With a charming atmosphere, it boasts friendly service and satisfying dishes, including crowd favorites like butter chicken and coconut curry. While some diners have raised concerns over portion sizes and escalating prices, many emphasize the delightful flavors and diversity in the menu, catering to vegetarians and vegans. A hidden courtyard adds to its appeal, making it a lovely spot for take-out or dine-in. Despite mixed reviews, this establishment remains a cherished destination for locals seeking authentic Indian flavors.
We eat here often and usually order the available vegan dishes. the staff is very on request and we had great eating in and going.
Yummy food from a small place in Fairfax. You could tell the food was great because there was a steady flow of people either sitting down or picking up take-out orders.
This location of the local company that is lotus Indian cuisine deserves less praise than it gets. there are vegans to have eat, but usually it is in the form of sweet so overcooked and sloppy that they appear pure. the prices are high for the portion size and the worst, every time I ordered for the tow, I was handed over food bags that always leave something. it's on the reception. Yeah, I paid for it. but it's not in the bag.
I do not suggest dining at this restaurant. I requested the waiter's recommendation for their top lamb dish and decided to order the Lamb Saag, which seemed promising on the menu. However, at $21, I was disappointed to find that the dish only contained three small pieces of lamb in a curry sauce thickened with flour or corn starch. The portion size was incredibly small considering the price. There were only two other couples in the restaurant on Saturday night, which could be a hint as to why. While I typically like to support small businesses, I cannot overlook the lack of authenticity and quality in the food at this establishment.
The drastic increase in prices across all main dishes has left my taste buds for this once affordable restaurant. You have made Sol Food affordable for me any likely manner others who should take a closer look at their receipts. $21 plus tax for a plate that is 3/4 sauce and maybe 1/4 of minced protein. Good luck!
