Stopped in EVERGLADES CITY to see how it was doing after Hurrican Irma and found Tastes of the Everglades for lunch. The staff was friendly and we were seated quickly. We ordered the chicken sandwich plate aand the Gator Tail (bites). The sandwich was well prepared and quite tasty. The gator tasted like....well.... gator. Some people might say it tasted like chicken but I found it moister than chicken and a bit more... View all feedback.
What Frank C doesn't like about Tastes Of The Everglades:
We rode over to Everglades City from Miami with a group of 15. The place was not crowded at all. However, it took forever to get service. When the server finally got there, we were told that there was no salad and no chowed. The rather limited menu was then reduced even more. I ordered the fried shrimp basket and my wife got the coconut shrimp basket. These basket came with very few shrimp and were very plain. Plus,... View all feedback.

Food was less than average and service was terrible. The only shining star was a woman that was filing glasses and bringing silverware. Oh, there was also a dead possum in a hava-heart trap and in the building itself. You'd be better off eating day old truck stop chili dogs. Better places to eat for sure. I won't be back.

A lovely location right on Collier overlooking Lake Placid with comfortable outdoor seating and parking available. We had grouper and redfish tacos and they were delicious. They recently opened and getting seated and waited on was a little slow, but it all worked out. Nice menu with many options and prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth a try
