Accanto Semplicissimo

We went to Accanto on Saturday night. We were kindly shown a nice table and were looking forward to our dinner. Then our waiter came and asked us if we had been there before. We hadn't said to the water and politely that he must be mistaken. After that he started acting weird. Without going into any details, just like an example: I said I want some wine to eat. At this point he said OK, but first I should finish my beer that I had ordered on arrival. I would have enjoyed the wine during the antipasto, but the waiter went into a lot of trouble, us throughout the time we enjoy the antipasto. He asked about the wine when our inflammation came to the table. When I said at this point, I would like to have the wine much earlier, but did not have the opportunity to order any one that he seemed insulted at the fact that I would point out. Now later, when he paid the bill, he became even more rude than I did what a customer can do, no tip has added to the bill. He went away quickly and didn't even give me a reception. The food was actually good, although on the expensive side. But our experience shows that even a good meal can be completely overtaken by strange behavior of an employee and that a cold antipasto plate for two and a common inflammation lasted more than two hours 't helped the experience. And that without a beautiful glass of wine!

Accanto is by far the best Italian you get in Esslingen. Having lived in Naples IT for 3 years, I can confirm that they meet the typical Neapolitan in an excellent way. Unfortunately, such delicious dishes do not come with the Neapolitan price tag, so your bill will run slightly up. However, I find the service, food and location more than enough to pay a bit extra. You also have a large selection of wines always nice to find good Italian wines in Germany!

Very nice, cosy restaurant, good antipasto and specials always different. Went for business dinner and was quite good. One downfall is that the menu was only in German but the group had German speaking members and they helped with selection. Waitress also spoke English.

We were here for a wedding reception at noon and a wedding dinner and party in the evening, in one word absolutely perfect, service is very very friendly and very professional, the food and the location on the square were magnificant, especially on a very nice and warm wedding day. Big thumbs up for this restaurant !
