We had a wonderful dinner here on a weeks holiday in Esposende. The restaurant is modern and stylish but the food is traditional and great quality. Friendly staff and great value too. View all feedback.
I spent a week in Esponsende traveling this entire region. Agua pe is by far the best restaurant in the area. The fish is fresh and was excellent. The prices were very reasonable. This place is tucked away just off the main square. Highly recommend.
The superlatives I 'm searching for are for bland , tasteless , mediocre , and appalling . I do not think I 've ever been so disappointed with an eating experience, and I really mean ever. Granted, the price would have been reasonable if, and that 's a big if, the food had been remotely edible. That 's it for the plus side. My green soup starter was reminiscent of very stale dishwater. Mind you, the bread rolls were fine but I suspect the cook, (I couldn 't possibly dignify him or her with the designation of chef , had nothing to do with them, at least. Now, I 'm aware that what is essentially a cabbage soup takes a great deal of skill to make it palatable, and this novice attempt was nowhere near a pass mark, so let 's move on to my main course of brioche de veau. I think I was served a skewer of the only veal calf in danger of dying of old age. It was tough you can take that as a classic British understatement and in nobody 's lexicon could be described as veal , and it was accompanied by lukewarm, overcooked vegetables. Oh, and rice which wasn 't too badly mauled but let 's face it, rice is a quite forgiving cereal. I 'm sure you 'll forgive me for not bothering with a pudding which, for all I know, might be at least edible, but frankly, I didn 't feel the risk was worth taking. The coffee didn 't poison me but again, I feel that was probably outside the restaurant 's field of influence. Maybe we were unlucky enough to visit on a night when the kitchen staff were replaced by young offenders on a rehabilitation training scheme, but in any event I personally wouldn 't risk the affront to one 's palate to which we were subjected.
Very nice restaurant. The food was very good with a variety of choice The fish fillets and octopus were very good. The employees are quite friendly
We arrived about 2pm on a Sunday and they were happy to find us a table even though they closed at 3. Linen tablecloths and napkins obviously a good sign. Very good menu-not extensive which indicates that everything is fresh. We had garlic prawns in fresh tomato sauce-no tomato purée in sight, bread with presunto de chaves in it,then the children ate baby goat in a great reduction of the juices, wife and I ate the hake with very good vegetables. Puddings were excellent-have the creole chocolate. Cannot rate this place higher. It is a must go to restaurant.Book first if it’s the weekend. The waiting staff were the best.
Restaurante para comer tranquilo con la familia, buena comida con una presentación muy cuidada, el servicio muy correcto y el precio acorde con la calidad del producto.
