Emperor's Garden Chinese Restaurant

We were recommended this restaurant by a friendly local woman while walking our dog. Due to Covid restrictions, they now only offer takeout. We ordered the Special Fried Rice and Chilli Beef, both of which were delicious and satisfied our cravings. When asked how spicy we wanted the beef, we requested it to be very spicy, and the lady confirmed if we wanted it 100% spicy. We said yes, and it was indeed extremely spicy, leaving our lips tingling even an hour later. This restaurant does not serve your typical small-town Chinese food but offers exceptional dishes. The staff at this restaurant is very welcoming, and the food, such as the garlic beef seafood combination, is delicious. Even though it was a public holiday, the meals had perfect flavor, and the large takeout options were worth it.

The older lady that works here was very friendly and full of smiles, though, a little miffed by the rubbish Easter weather haha. I ordered a short soup and a beef fried rice and they were both about average, with the rice being a bit better. Could do with a bit more salt in the rice but it's probably better to add less and let people make it to taste anyway so I enjoyed it. Went to the beach and ate it there

The Thai beef curry was one of the best I have ever had. The Szechuan chicken and combination fried rice were also delicious. Don't listen to the negative reviews, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Of course, it doesn't claim to be 5 star so you get what you pay for. Decor traditional Australian Chinese right down to the plastic table toppers. The menu was standard and the serving sizes sufficient. Good tasting food. Wait staff just lovely. Within walking distance to the Esplanade.
