Goldhelm Schokoladen - Erfurt

This shop has a nice selection of different types of chocolate bars, truffles, individual chocolates. of course we had to try a series of types. we had several chocolates, a few truffles and 3 different bars. none of these lasted very long! one was a tasty bite. the ingredients were fresh and the dame behind the counter was very knowledgeable. she was also very helpful because we cannot speak German.

There were so many interesting flavors to choose from it was definitely hard to decide. My son and I both had the whiskey ice cream with candied walnuts on the hand made ice cream cones. Absolutely delicious!!

Visited just because it was No. 1 according to reviews. We had to wait about 10 minutes in a queue. High expectations probably was the reason of a little disappointment. For me it was just regular ice cream. Tried 6 flavours. Almost all tastes were...good but not something spectacular. Vanilla taste was pale. Ice cream itself was a bit more like an ice than a cream Personally for me, regular italian gelato is better. Besides, no english titles on a street menu. Google translate helped as always.

We did not expect something like this in Erfurt. We went there for sightseeing and finally we crossed the Krämerbrücke At the end was a long row in front of an ice cream parlor. We took a look on the menu and where impressed by...the creations they offered and everything was self made. So we decided to line up and we did not regret. First of all the staff was friendly and quick. And then we tried nearly all kinds of ice cream they offered (we were 10). From Cassis Balsamico to salty Toffee and from hemp to Limoncello blackberry. Incredible! We did not want to leave. For sure it is not cheap (1.50€ the scoop) but it is worth it. Try yourself and enjoy!

Great selection of ice cream. Great location at the historic Kramerbrucke. A bit of slow in service.
