My friend and I stopped at this Applebee's during a road trip. The restaurant itself was good, but the food was just okay. The reason for the four star rating is because our server was fantastic. We have the Nachos and Bretzel appetizer and Sangrias. View all feedback.
What Dulce Veum doesn't like about Applebee's Grill:
I still have my receipt. But not in front of me. I believe Kiante answered the phone like she was some auctioneer and then put me on hold and disconnected my call. I called back and think I spoke with a Chris View all feedback.
I was seated quickly but it took about 15 mins for a server to come greet me. But as I sat there there were bugs (gnats and mosquitoes) The food was tasty. Drink was perfectly mixed but presentation of drink (margarita) was sloppy. My server was nice. You can tell they were running her crazy.... I went to use the bathroom and I came back the manager was about to throw all of my stuff out. My fresh drink I had just order. It made me feel rushed out and not really wanted there. And it also showed lack of communication with in the staff.

Tonight my family and I went out to eat at Applebee’s in Emporia Virginia and for the 1st time ever and I did not tip 20%. Not because I couldn’t afford it but simply because the server truly did not deserve the 15% I gave her. My daughter sat for 10+ minutes with nothing left in her cup, she walked by numerous times and did not say anything or just bring a refill. Even after asking for a refill it took forever. Not only did that happen after waiting 40 minutes for our food (not servers fault I understand that) we had to ask 3 times and 2 different servers (one of them being our server) for silverware. So our food sat in front of us for quite sometime and we had no silverware. Not one employee was smiling, or happy. We were not even asked once were we asked how our food was. Once we got our silverware to begin eating I never saw our server again until I was walking out the door. I should also add it was slow inside the restaurant. Maybe a total of 10 tables amongst 4 servers and a bartender. As a server if I provided my customers with that kind of service I would be fired. I’ve been serving for almost 9 years and I could not fathom acting like that or providing that kind of service. I’ve never had such terrible service in an establishment before.
After reading all the bad reviews and being on the road for over 12 hrs we didn’t want to go searching for a restaurant so we went here! BIG mistake, service real slow not busy in there, maybe they had 7 tables with customers all others open. Bar had two customers and bartender couldn’t keep up with flow someone helped her. 10 min before we were recognized then over 20 min for a burger then we like others had our food and no utensils. Our server said they were just getting them cleaned. More employees then customers! Will never go back.
That was so good after 14 hours. The waitress was lovely and I hope her good!
