Although I had already eaten lunch, I couldn't resist trying their vanilla slice and lamington to go. The lamington was large and had a light sponge with generous amounts of chocolate and coconut. The vanilla slice was equally impressive, with flaky pastry and a rich, creamy custard filling.
Finding hidden gems like Brent's Patisserie is always a treat, and I highly recommend stopping by for some scrumptious cakes. View all feedback.
What Cleora Christiansen doesn't like about Brents Patisserie:
Pies prefabricated somewhere else. Bland gravy with a little mince thrown in $5.40 lol. Some of the cheapest I've ever tasted. No pastries and is a terrace??? Cakes- pre made somewhere else. Probably come in frozen and they defroze as needed. No...Choc milk or Iced coffee? Will never go there again.... View all feedback.

The custard was truly delicious. It had a rich, creamy, and whipped texture, not overly sweet but bursting with vanilla flavor. There was a generous amount of custard, making it difficult to eat without making a mess. The pastry was unexpectedly crunchy, with thin, compressed layers providing a sturdy base for eating the slice without utensils. The only minor drawback was the thickness of the icing; however, its sweetness balanced out the richness of the custard quite well. Overall, this bakery in the North is a true success.
Consistency and service ...<br/ <br/ From worst to awesome ...<br/ 3/10 $4.30 'big ' Sausage Roll, it was undercooked, pastry not set, also I did asked for a small Sausage Roll, lovely girl.<br/ 8/10 $6.30 Beef Burgundy, balanced, chunky and just need a bit of Black pepper and a glass of Pinot Noir. I did asked for the last Pepper steak, however she was too slow and another customer who was tended after me was given the steak, never mind.<br/ 9/10 $4.00 New York Choc Brownie, gooey, chewy and just scrumptiously yummy.<br/ <br/ Let 's give it another visit shortly, trust more consistency and better service. Glenda is an Eltham institution. Her cakes are delicious husband Kevin does a good job too! Yummy pies great vanilla slices. Gluten free available. Her vego sausage rolls are the best.
I ordered a stack of cupcakes from Brents and they were amazing! Delicious, soft with a smooth buttercream. The customers service was exceptional too, easy to deal with everyone there with just the right amount of communication. Highly recommended.
