Cocktail hour between 3pm 7pm, AMAZING cocktails, so many options are all fantastic! Personal favor shark week with even a cheeky shark sweet (blue on the photo). My first time at the muzzle, Qnd it's what it says, Shut up. The employees are brilliant, one of the employees even saved me from a Pesky Wespe View all feedback.
What Stuart G doesn't like about The Snug St Albans:
Worst food experience ever, food shockingly bad. Ordered a 'bbq chicken 'stack ' meal which comprised of a flat piece of chicken with a slither of bacon on top and a few chips. And it cost £12! Maybe pop in there for a beer but otherwise avoid like the plague. View all feedback.

The underlying theme here is not to bother. You are basically just a bar bill to cash in. If there are a few people in they will turn you away. Shame as it could be a good enterprise, but the pretentious attitude will deter anybody with morals.
Slow bar staff who offer misleading directions. Do you enjoying queues? Then this bar offers plenty.
Stopped in here during a walking your of St Albans. Needed a quick bite to eat and had been warned by the local guide that most places take their time so I should be sure to let them know I was trying to get in and out. Here they seemed unimpressed when I told them that (first sign that I could have chosen another place). I ordered an appetizer the nachos with cheese as that was supposed to be quick. It was passable. Will need to grab something else before I grab a train for London. Honestly the menu didn't have much of interest to me anyway. It was more along the lines of a TGI Fridays than a pub but I guess that's the trend so I went with it. They have a nice outdoor seating area in the back and it was a nice day so I sat back there. It was fine. The music they played was insipid. The beer selection was ok. They had some cask ales which you'd expect in the home of CAMBRA but not as many as I'd like. They had a extensive mixed drink menu so I guess that is their thing. Honestly if I were local I wouldn't go back. It really wasn't my kind of place but other people around me seemed to be having fun so if you aren't looking for a more traditional place then you may want to consider it.
St Albans is absolutely rammed with pubs. In fact it has the most per square mile in the whole of the UK. Top tip for all you booze hounds out there. It also is home to the oldest pub in Britain. The Snug is a mini chain that rocks and one that I'm proud to frequent. Great food, nice friendly staff and the fabbest ever cocktail list. How would one work here and know how to make all these? The cocktails....now a real treat...19 page list. Table service. Loved. Had a cherry jack (had cherry jam in it, new fav) and a lychee collins. Both 2 for 1 as well. Hotness. Sampled brownie sundee sharing bowl as well, yums. There's pages of shots, shot cocktails, redbull cocktails, ice cream ones, long ones, iced teas, classics, loadsa different cosmo's, martini's, daquiri's, summer ones the list goes on and on.....I will try them all though. Its location makes it the perfect starting point if you wish to go to some of the other larger bars/pubs for a boogie or even a great place to spend an entire Sunday mulling the papers and then enjoying some yummy din dins. There was a wild band playing when we arrived on Sunday which added to its fabness.
