This restaurant is done up old-school. It looks posh, you feel special, but it is down to earth great food and great people. We are half-French half-English so the waitress made us laugh dans les deux langues and kept bringing out more incredible food. The amuses-bouche were a delight and it just kept coming. I don't usually use google maps to find a restaurant but I'm so glad I did. View all feedback.
What Lesley Hoffman doesn't like about Chantal's Steak House:
Nice atmosphere, tables close together, original art on the walls and friendly staff welcome you as you enter Chantal’s Steak House. BYOB with only $1 corkage!Good salad, fresh homemade crusty bread, and an amuse bouche were served before the main courses. We chose the ribs and the seafood crepes passing on the renowned steak. Unfortunately, the ribs were black and yes, the sugar had turned. The meat was a little dry... View all feedback.
This was by far the best steak dinner I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. The sides and desserts were also fabulous. Creme Brulle to die for. And the famous Chantal herself came around and chatted with all the patrons. We plan to be back there in two weeks on our way home. Highly advise anyone going through Edmunston to consider a stop. You will not be disappointed.
There are so many great things to say about this restaurant I don’t know where to start. My husband and I were heading back to Montreal and booked a stop over night at the Auberge Micky and decided to have dinner at Chantal’s. Were we every glad we did. It’s a long time since I’ve witnessed a restaurant that the staff is like one big happy family. Everyone greeted us with a welcoming smile and made us feel at home. Our waiter was a young fellow named Pascal and he was incredibly service oriented and served us our delicious food in a very timely professional manner. We both ordered the French Onion soup which was fantastic and I had the seafood crepe and my husband had the hamburger steak with onions. Everything was great. The owner of the restaurant Chantal came by our table a few times and shared a few laughs with us as well. I would highly recommend his restaurant.
Great atmosphere and service. The food was very good but not excellent. The special potato pan fried into a patty was too bland and the fiddleheads stuffed into the salmon I think would have been better served steamed and whole.
An unexpected wonderful dining experience . Service and meal presentation unsurpassed with great local cuisine. Pascal served with attention flair and smile. I recommend the 6 oz filet . I recommend you reserve and stay overnight at adjoining auberge
We have eaten many times at this and the previous 2 locations for Chantal's, and have nothing but the highest regard for the food and service never a substandard time. This week we were impressed not just with the new location (the old Auberge Les Jardins), as well as the food and service, but also the Christmas decorations what an experience!! Thank you Chantal and crew.
