Diners praise the staff's exceptional service and the delicious haggis, which stands out as a highlight. However, some dishes have faced criticism for inconsistent quality and portion sizes. While the ambiance is inviting and ideal for a casual meal or a celebratory dinner, occasional lapses in service, like premature plate clearing, could impact the experience. Overall, it remains a recommended spot for those seeking a cozy dining experience in the city center.
For the first time in the auld hundred, which is a cozy place. I was there for a meal, not long wait to be served a delicious meal from the top staff. in any case, I will return, this is a great restaurant that they value as a customer.
At my visit to edinburgh, after the exploration of the city center of edinburgh, I wondered where I can eat. found this place, the authentic Scottish cuisine said and I was not disappointed. they have their own brewery and the move was amazing. I want to visit this place again and again, especially for eating. the personal is very nice to help us choose the right beer and suggested ipa was excellent. the cheesecake was also very delicious. totally excellent food and place.
Absolutely fantastic experience. We were sat upstairs which was preferred as downstairs was bustling and noisy, but still looked fun if that's your thing. The service was top notch and our two main servers tonight were amazing, with one running all the way downstairs and outside after us as my friend left his bag. They were both really attentive without being overwhelming. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was really pleased with my starter too! The beer was cold and tasty, as it should be : Highly recommend! We will most certainly be back and I can't wait to recommend to family.
The auld hundred was a place where I had visited edinburgh almost 2 years ago. I know how much I had eaten there. I was able to book a table in advance, which is always practical, especially as it was on Friday. I had the haggis, neffen and didties for a starter. it was good and was the perfect amount I needed to start. for my head I had a brekkieburger. a beautiful rindburger with stornoway black pudding, speck and a ei for good measurements. with a side of klobigen chips and koleslaw. that really had me. to finish I asked about my bill. it was understandable, but I thought I was forgotten when I asked twice about my bill. except that the service was great and the people there seem friendly and relaxed. I really enjoyed my experience and would be definitiw for more.
Eating and service was great, would definitely go back
