We enjoyed our meal here very much. The starters were very tasty and my lamb Kebab was slim and tender. Our main thing was so tasteful that you could not help but enjoy it. A big plus was that the food came very hot (temperature). The Peshwari naan was one of the best I had. Abu, our server, was brilliant and it was obvious he was enjoying his job. Other reviews say the decor is a bit clogged, so what, the food more... View all feedback.
What Jezda Tutulić doesn't like about Britannia Spice:
We arrived just as they were opening at 5pm and ordered our main course meal and then had to sit for almost an hour before it arrived. It was tasty but not worth the wait. The restaurant was empty so unsure why it took so long . One waiter was smartly dressed and efficient but the other 2 were wearing white tunics which were creased and covered in curry stains. They Had just opened so it was obviously from the night... View all feedback.
We had lunch at this restaurant over a year ago, and while the menu was limited, we enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, we were not as satisfied. The menu was still limited and did not offer many choices. The starters and mains we ordered were terrible, tasting as if they had been sitting around for a few days. Even the rice was not prepared well. Additionally, the service was appalling, with our starters taking 45 minutes to arrive. During our wait, we witnessed a couple behind us refusing to eat or pay for their food, describing it as disgusting. We should have followed suit and left after the starters, as the main dishes were also disappointing. I had to chase the waiter to bring our mains, as we had been waiting for an hour at that point. Being charged £50 for two people with only one glass of wine was ridiculous, especially since I had to go find someone to give me the bill. This was one of the worst Indian meals we have ever had, and we have had many. We will not be returning and suggest you avoid this restaurant.
The food at this restaurant is excellent and it is conveniently situated in Leith, making it a great option for those staying at the Holiday Inn.
The food is excellent. I have been there several times whilst working in the area and have always arrived soon after opening so it is usually quiet. Service is good and prices are reasonable.
Waited 15minutes to get a drink ordered, from the time we arrived 1hour to get a starter only after complaining, waited another50minutes to be served our main , once again complained to our server about time waited only to be told they have been busy ,quality of the food was very good only to be let down by service
Went out with friends on a Tuesday night, the whole experience was excellent we had been before but our friends hadn't. We had the Indian option our friends the Thai option. They were extremely impressed, we stayed on for a while and never felt any pressure to move. Our waiter was excellent, very attentive and very friendly. Great night.
