This restaurant is a fantastic spot to have lunch after visiting Aira Force. There is plenty of room to sit with your dog and the staff is very welcoming. We can't fault anything- we only had sandwiches and chips, but they were of incredible quality and tasted delicious. We would love to return to try the rest of the menu, which looked equally fantastic. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Royal:
Stayed here for one night our room was ok but the floors were very creaky so you could here the other guests moving around. Evening meal was nice, breakfast was very disappointing smoked salmon was hard and my partners breakfast was over cooked! Staff were...very friendly and welcoming. There is a nice beer garden and very dog friendly. View all feedback.
Here in the middle of 11 miles to foot, lunch, lots of food and service was excellent and really good value for money. just what for the trek back to the website where we were.

Located between the A66 and Ullswater we dropped in for lunch. We picked this as it was just slightly away from Ullswater and wouldn't be overcrowded. Plenty of seating inside and out. Good choice on the menu, food was good service was good.

We were in the area las Wednesday, and stumbled on this place by chance. Nice outdoor dining area. We went for lunch. I personally can vouch for the beef and onion gravy sandwich with side salad and a portion of chips. We would not hesitate...to call in again when we are in the area. Good staff and good service to match. Highly recommended.
