Arriving relatively late in the evening at the Premier Inn after a long journey we decided to use the Thyme restaurant at the hotel. The staff were efficient and friendly and we were quickly shown to our table. The layout is clean and functional. The menu is not particularly extensive but has the usual favourites. There is also an adequate selection of drinks. I chose the duck wings in hoisin sauce which was tasty and... View all feedback.

Never go there, zero customer service had to ask for menu after 15 minutes chose then told that wasn't on meal offer and gave us another menu another long wait had to wave at them to take order went out of their way to avoid eye contact No garden peas. When we checked in too our room at the Premier Inn in which this restaurant is located, we were welcomed to dine at the Thyme Bar Grill restaurant but were not notified of the need to reserve a table. We arrived downstairs for 7 o'clock, and were told there would be no table for us until 8:45. We took the available reservation for that time, and decided to spend that hour and 45 minutes in the bar. We were sat at the closest table to the entrance from the bar to the restaurant and saw very few people enter or leave on this time period, yet they claimed to be entirely reserved in this time. When we were finally sat, we saw that there were more empty tables in the restaurant that filled tables (which were not filled in the entire time that we were there). We were seated at one of the three booths in the back, and the booths either side of us had been seated already. It took us until half past 9 to be served, meanwhile the table for six near us had been approached 7 different times and received multiple plates of food. The tables either side of us had been seated for longer than us and was too only served at this time. It then took a further 50 minutes from order to receive our food, even though as ordered only starters and a child's meal. The restaurant was set to close at 10:30pm, and yet we were served at 10:10 after waiting for a table since 7pm. The food, while quite nice, was not worth waiting over 3 hours with a starving and upset 4 year old, an annoyed and tired teenager, and the man who has driven for 6 hours to this hotel. Extremely understaffed, under qualified and abysmal experience despite adequate food.
To start with half the menu not avaiable apparently because of Brexit ! any excuse, very poor service waited an hour for meal, then it was wrong and can you beleive a restaurant owned by a brewery had no Gordons Gin or tonic water ! they had plenty in Tesco. There is no social distancing and many people not wearing masks ,,It is always convenient to use hotel restaurant but I would avoid at all cost as there are many good restaurants in the area.
Stayed recently! everything we asked for you did not have. Run out of chips! Had 3 children and not family friendly. Poor quality! Very basic and very Over priced. Will not return. Such a shame! Felt for the waitress who had to apologise all the time. What restaurant runs out of chips!
Breakfast is served buffet style with the option to order a few hot choices from the menu, all of which was made to an acceptable standard. In the evenings the space fills up quickly as space is limited and people seemed to enjoy occupying either the pub side or the restaurant so reservations for specific times are recommended. The food options were limited but of a reasonable standard and price was of course inflated somewhat due to the fact there's literally nothing in the area to choose from as an alternative.
