the restaurant was good for Indian Asian art of eating. this was our first visit to a Google search it was only four minutes away where we were, so we decided to go. When we came in, I asked first about the washing room that I went into the washing room, there was no hand washing liquid and while we were in the toilet, the light went off for a few seconds. when I went, I ordered my food and I ordered paneer bhaji and... What Tej Bajracharya doesn't like about Ashoka:
restaurant with restaurant I have seen the worst and the behavior of the staff is also the worst that they calculate over prices than in comparison to the menu card View all feedback.
We went for lunch earlier this week and found the food great , ambiance excellent and service friendly. Of particular note eas my Chicken Madras as good as any I've ever enjoyed.
I have been visiting the Ashoka for the past 25 years but due to covid we havent visited recently . Today was the the second takeway from Ashoka via just eat Unfortunately , the chicken tikka masala was very watery and tasteless unlike the thick...tasty sauce it used to be. I am so disappointed and won’t be ordering again.
We’ve been eating from Ashoka for over 10 years and always thought it served some of the best Indian food in Eastbourne. Our latest order via Just Eat was preordered before they opened and it still arrived 45 minutes late (1 and half hours total...wait). What arrived was mostly bad. Very greasy, very spicy, but little flavour. A number of our dishes were the same sauce but with minimal changes. We ordered extra as we normally have leftovers the next day. On this occasion we threw it all away.
Top class chicken tikka such a delight to find a restaurant who doesn’t use reconstituted meat. The tarka dhal was a bit thin but that’s my only complaint. It was all very good in fact I ate much more than I intended to!
Visited tonight (25/10/21) restaurant only had one other couple in. Stale chewy poppadoms, warm overpriced beer and mushy chicken and lamb that had obviously been on simmer for ages. First Indian restaurant I've ever been to that didn't offer a hot towel or even a...wet wipe when the meal was over, the waiter even had the cheek to point out to my wife how we could leave a tip on the card machine. Only visited as it was close to our hotel and we didn't want to explore on the first night. Avoid!
