The Beacon - East Staffordshire

Terribly disappointing experience. Our family gathered at this restaurant for a Christmas dinner last night. While some opted for steaks and the majority went for the carvery, four of us decided to try the festive burger. Unfortunately, all of the burgers were served hard and inedible. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we were only offered the carvery as a replacement or a lengthy wait for another burger. It was unclear why it would take so long to cook a proper burger, and we suspected we would just receive another overcooked one. In the end, three out of our group of 15 went without eating. It was a frustrating experience to go out as a family and not all be able to enjoy a meal together. We initially heard good things about this place, but we will definitely not be returning.

Lovely place, very polite staff and great service. Meal was excellent. Place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and nice and warm on a cold day. Really enjoyed our visit.

Great menu choice, traditional pub fayre ,nice decor, pleasant staff, quick service. Went midweek and it was very busy with a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

I went with friends to try the Christmas festive menu at this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. The food was shocking and tasteless, and the five of us were crammed onto a small round table. It was not at all festive, and the service was terrible from beginning to end. To make matters worse, the lock in the toilets even came completely off in my hand when I tried to open the door. The vegetables were raw and tasteless, and everything else seemed to be frozen products.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on December 3rd and 5th, 2022, and I was impressed with the wonderful service I received. The ambiance inside and outside the restaurant is very pleasant. The food here is delightfully delicious, making it one of my favorite places to dine in the area.
