Being situated on a quieter street towards the Minster, the Monks Walk Inn can sometimes be less crowded than the ones in the Market Places. It also has a style and ambience that suggests that they are aiming for different clientele base. As such, it didn’t feel like a “local” pub, but it is a nice enough place nevertheless. It is certainly a very smart pub and with the white walls and old beams it is as traditional... View all feedback.
What JohnCasey29 doesn't like about Monks Walk:
Dark. Small. Spooky. Historical. Full of locals, some friendly, some not so. Higgeldy piggeldy mix of rooms with very low ceilings. Beware if over 5'11 ! 2 glasses of wine £8! Diabolical. It wasn't even nice wine. We left some of it which is unheard of View all feedback.
I hadn't been to this pub since the day before my wedding over 20 years ago in the Minster. The pub has remained the same and the staff are still as friendly as I remembered. They have a variety of great ales from small breweries.
Wonderfully friendly atmosphere, delicious home-made food and a great choice of eating drinking spaces. This used to be such a dull place, now it's a really friendly chatter-pub. Well done, everyone, and thank you
I understand that they host a lot of live music in the Monks Walk, but relatively early doors on a Saturday evening the atmosphere was pleasingly quiet. This is an attractive, traditional pub serving good real ales as well as the expected range of other drinks.
Love this place, a pub full of character with some cosy little areas to sit and relax in. Fantastic range of beers and ciders, but most of all a great beer garden that was an unexpected find, sitting their in the evening sun with the swifts flying overhead, definitely a most for all future Beverley visits.
This is a lovely little oldy worldy pub as I call them! Very historical and it is like taking a step back in time.
