What mywordings doesn't like about Kitchen:
For the food and customer service I would have given a good four stars, but the noise level was something else. For the lack of ambience, kitchen gets a three star from me. It was so loud, I had to concentrate on my husband speaking as people were shouting to make themselves heard over the loud music. This should have been soft background music for that reason, we would not return. View all feedback.
Nostalgic visit about whitby to a city where I lived, went to school and even sung in the Mister Choir! armed late midday and as expected had to wait for a past, but this was well managed by the staff who updated us all and soon we got a table for two tops and had time to read the absolutely huge doubts about a wall! we ordered an salad bowl, goat cheese and caramelized wobble flatbread and keile in camembert all beautifully presented, really delicious and mahoosive! the personal was excellent and it was an excellent value for money. I couldn't mistake it and will return as these cakes just looked too good, not tried!
We decided to visit kitchen after we saw it on rate my takeaway. we were there around half 1 on Saturday and it was very busy. there were two queues, one for the trip out and one for the one. the session in wait was particularly long and has not moved very fast at all, I think they would wait for a rather long time to sit down. we decided to turn off and wait for about 15 minutes. When we came forward, they fled from the broth. this is kind of crazy like a midday place in the half! without ordering the sandwiches, we stayed with little choice for hearty eating. there were a lot of sausage rolls (chorizo, etc. quiches and a few cold cheese pizzas. there was not much choice for a vegetarian, and none for a vegan. we had a normal sausage roll, a chorizo sausage roll, a pizza and a piece of blueberry cake for approx. £12. It was all very nice, it was just a shame that we couldn't get what we actually wanted because they ran out of broth. Overall, the food we had was good and a great price, only disappointing about the waiting times and run out of ingredients, especially for lunch. If they have no other plans and can wait indefinitely, I am sure it would be nice to sit in. Although I don't know if the takeaway counter running out of the broth would affect what they can order if they were sitting in?
I have been a long-time patron of this restaurant, but be prepared to wait in line. Last week, I visited with my girlfriend and we waited for about an hour. Usually, when we come, one of us will wait in the take-out line to buy cakes to enjoy later (the staff is always willing to hold them behind the counter while we dine). I recommend ordering the cakes to go, as the portions are so large that we never have room for dessert. The food, as always, was fantastic and reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity. This time, we tried a new menu offering 6 items for £28.
We stopped at this restaurant on our way home from our holiday and chose sandwiches and cake to go. I had a beef and horseradish sandwich while my husband had chicken and mango. We also shared a florentine and each had a latte. Everything was freshly made and delicious. My sandwich was so big that I only ate half of it and couldn't finish the florentine. I saved the other half of my sandwich for dinner. It's always a treat to get food from here! Highly recommend.
I have visited The Kitchen several times now, traveling from the far side of Leeds. The food is always amazing, but this time the wait was incredibly long. It took 1 hour to be seated and 40 minutes to be served. I understand that the restaurant is very busy with a large number of customers, but I believe that implementing a booking service could help alleviate the long wait times. Perhaps a non-refundable deposit of £20 could be required to secure a guaranteed table for each party, preventing wasted journeys. Our party of 4 included a toddler who behaved remarkably well despite the long wait. I think a different system could work better and help reduce the wait time of 1-2 hours.
