We were staying on the caravan park behind the pub literally 43 steps away which my husband loved so we decided to give the Sunday lunch a try. We did book in for it in case we couldn't get a table. The food a service was amazing and the price was great. We were so happy that we went because the food was so tasty i just wished i had room for the pudding. View all feedback.
What trevor6410 doesn't like about Cross Keys:
Four of us for Sunday lunch food was actually very good for a ‘pub’ , service was almost non existent very slow and disorganised . The vegetables seemed to be fresh but very small portions the desserts appeared to be home made. So, compared to most local offerings this was really good and we will return . The service does need to be improved. View all feedback.
Friendly polite staff .Comfortable seating with plenty of room.Good service and well cooked food.Best steak I've had for a very long time.
What a lovely lunch at the Cross Keys I had the mixed grill absolutely spot on with nice chips my wife enjoyed the steak pie with a very generous filling and the children’s menu was great for my great grandson . Lovely spacious pub very clean and friendly. We will definitely be returning soon
Went for Sunday Lunch pub was very busy, the meal was one of the best I have ever tasted. Fhe roast beef perfectly cooked fresh vegetables (no tin operners here) perfect roast potatoes. And the yorkshire pud exceptional. The staff are amazing very friendly no waiting for drinks you order and it is bought to your table no messing about. Would I recommend absolutely
We’ve visited this pub a few times while staying at the caravan. This is probably one of the best pubs for great food, a hidden gem really. Couldn’t recommend the food and staff enough.
After booking a half term family holiday through Hoseasons the kids were really looking forward to their first holiday this year due to Covid 19 and lockdown. We arrived quite late on a Friday at 8pm after driving there straight after work and went to the main Cowden holiday park reception but it was closed, I was then told by the bar staff at the holiday park pub to go to the cross keys pub down the road to collect keys for the caravan from there. I collected the keys from the pub and was then told that the caravan was sited behind the cross keys pub with several other caravans, which I thought was odd as we had booked to stay at Cowden holiday park which this didn’t really seem to be part of. On entering the caravan (no 10) the holiday started to get a lot worse!! Everything in the caravan was either sticky or dirty and the carpet to the living area was half missing! (See picture). The Sofa to the living area was well worn and also felt sticky and smelled really bad!! As it was getting late by this point and travelling some way to get there we decided to clean the caravan surfaces with anti bacterial spray and try to sort it out with reception in the morning. We went to the main reception in the morning at Cowden holiday park and told the receptionist about the situation and was told there were no more available caravans due to half term break and the only option would be to get a refund, which we ended up taking! Not only did this leave my children upset and without a holiday that they had been looking forward to, but to let a family with children stay in a dirty caravan during Covid Pandemic peak times and to have not even attempted to clean the surfaces, you people should be ashamed of yourself!! Absolutely pathetic standards!! To be honest I wouldn’t have let a dog stay in this caravan!!
