A must for food! all freshly cooked, piping hot and cooked to literally perfection. service was amazing, attentive and friendly ladies looking for us. recommend the Scotch eggs and the Hiumi frits, compliments to the cook. huge selection of gins also. in any case it is worth a visit if they are in the opposite, or even if they are ready to travel. will be again for a breakfast Sunday dinner!
First visit since the reopening of the restaurant. the menu is quite as I remembered, but with comprehensible some price increases. Saturday night, not very busy. whitebait was nice, but portion size was small good job, they get some focaccia and dips with. to start. a heaper was again rather small for the price and came without sauce; that would have pointed out to order, but the waiting staff was obviously still learning. pie main was good; boar a bit hard. with drinks 2 courses plus 1 cheese board came at £50 per head, so this is far from a cheap option. In view of the competition, I would not rush back, but I said that they have success, as it is nowhere else decent to eat in higham!
Amazing pub and restaurant that we have really happy so close. my partner and I went for Valentine's Day, and the thought and the additional touches sally and the team in service was charming. the additional sweets, decoration and menus were wonderful. The foods were phenomenal and are amazing every day of the week. the drink selection is also really good.
Just went here for a valentine's 3 course dinner. The staff were all so lovely and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The glass of bubbly on arrival was also a very nice touch! The spicy-tomato sauce served with the bread was super tasty!...The French onion soup was honestly magnificent and the pepper gravy served with the pork fillet main was one of the most delicious things I've ever had the pleasure of tasting!! The crackling was also phenomenal. The espresso brulee was not particularly brulee-like, but super tasty none-the-less. A light and airy dessert, it was perfect for someone who is full up from the starter and main but still wanted something sweet to wrap everything up We also received a cute little packet of Valentine's themed sweets which was lovely. The only things that I wasn't so keen on: The mousse that accompanied the smoked salmon had a very odd after-taste. It tasted like salmon-infused lemonade that was foamed up. I didn't feel that the flavour was right for the salmon (which was lovely and something with a less distinctive and sweet flavour might match better. The roasted smashed potatoes were not quite as crunchy and roasted as I would have liked, but still tasty.
