The restaurant is under new management now. I used to eat there frequently while working in Preston because it was so convenient, and the food was fantastic with excellent service from the previous owner. The food was unappetizing, the service was poor, and the prices on the menu were too high. It didn't used to be this way, but I won't be returning.
My husband and I recently had lunch at this café and had a wonderful experience. Both the food and service were impressive. It's the kind of café that has a genuine local feel, quite different from chain places like Starbucks or the trendy spots in Paris. I ordered a burger with homemade chips, and it was fantastic. My husband chose one of the daily specials—though I can't recall exactly which one—but he enjoyed it. The homemade strawberry pie, however, was a bit of a letdown, as it had more filler than actual strawberries. We appreciated that they were playing daytime soap operas on the TV instead of the usual CNN or sports. Overall, we'd definitely return!
The restaurant has a fantastic small-town atmosphere and offers a wonderful homestyle menu!
