Gorgeous pub, delicious huge portions of food, cannot fault it, friendly staff and the little buzzer they give is a great idea to call staff for something of to pay bill. Oldie worldy type pub but a lovely atmosphere View all feedback.

The service was great. The staff were friendly. Good beer. Unfortunately the food was not great. You'd have thought it was the chefs night off? It's very unlikely I'd make the trip back. It wasn't as good as the recommendations. View all feedback.
What excellent food and service...highly recommend the Stilton chicken and rump steak.Wendy gave excellent service and we loved the little buzz for attention bell. Everything is homemade to a high standard, desserts were exceptional.
Five stars seem such a disappointment when clearly well worth an 8 or more out of 5. So top marks for quality and taste of food, top marks for portion size and top marks for lovely friendly staff. We arrived at 6.45pm and tge place was heaving with customers eating and we were the last to leave that night. Food was wholesome,home prepared and freshly produced, the portions were of a terrific size and there was a fantastic atmosphere. The food was piping hot. We enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday lunch.
This was our first visit to this restaurant during our holiday in the area. The food was excellent with a wide variety of options. We even had a lovely conversation about dogs. We will be sure to update you on our upcoming greyhound. We will definitely be returning in the future.
We discovered a real gem! After reading reviews, we decided to make a reservation for lunch before heading home after our weekend getaway to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. Wendy was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and there wasn't a single crumb left on anyone's plate. The staff went above and beyond for our large party of 13, and their commitment to customer service was evident. Thank you!
Ten of us went here for lunch (7 adults and 3 children) on Mother’s Day as we were staying in the area. We had a lovely meal, lots of different foods, great options for the kids and it all arrived at the same time. It’s table service and the landlady was really friendly and funny. Would recommend if you’re in the area
