If I can I will give details later but everything about this restaurant was great especially the face on the waiter when I told him I wanted as spicy as possible. if they really did this I couldn't handle it but it would be fun) I guess he did because it was great and made me sweat. My son ordered the sushi and he loved it. View all feedback.
What sunny n doesn't like about Ying's Sushi Bar Lounge Restaurant:
I ordered 5 rolls. All of them were oversized like the ones you can buy at grocery food counter. Meshi(rice) was mushy and I could tell it was cooked by Amateur Sushi chef. Need to improve 200% if this place like to be called as Sushi place. However, the atmosphere and service people look decent. View all feedback.
A few points of feedback: 1. Food: The food here is mediocre. One of the sushi rolls we got were good but the other one missed the mark as the seaweed salad inside it tasted off. We followed it up with an order of gyoza which given the size of the menu we knew were not going to be handmade but we were hoping for proper cooking. This did not happen, they were ice cold in the middle and thrown on the plate with water dripping off of them. The Bangkok roti tasted good but again could tell it was thawed and the size of curry served with the roti is inadequate given the amount of roti served. 2. Service: Our server was kind and very attentive kudos to her. However, the requirement that you need to tip 20% irrespective of service sits poorly with me. Raise the menu prices by 20% but leave tipping in the hand of the customer. Otherwise, this is a forced tax. 3. Ambiance: The ambiance is cute with lots of Thai pieces of art and furniture. However, the restaurant would have a more polished look if these pieces were dusted and well maintained. You could tell that there was dust collecting on them. The lampshade above our table had wads of dust stuck to it. All in all, the people are kind and trying their best. Would recommend they focus on a smaller menu and accept the feedback. If you're in town and want a quick meal drop by, but double check what you ordered and take it to go. Edit: Given their response, all has been said. No grace in accepting feedback and a classless act of a restaurant. For 25 years, they have been serving mediocre food then and they are willing to call a paying customer's opinion uninformed as opposed to trying to rectify. Ratings have been moved even lower accordingly.
The food was amazing with lots of options, the staff was kind, and the ambiance inside the restaurant was really pretty!
Many Asian food options did not order sushi but drunken noodles which were fine. Friendly staff
Food, absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was wonderful. Service, very attentive and thoughtful. Atmosphere is so calming and lovely.
I had been to Ying many times, but hadn't been there in a while. Bibimbap is a favorite of mine. I have had it at Yings previously and it was great. My last visit, it was just okay. The sauce was not that hot, and the egg was poached, not fried. That's a small problem... the waitstaff was kind of rude. I guess that's okay because a 20% tip was added to my bill. I'm not a cheap tipper. I usually tip at that rate. But had I not looked at the bill, I may not have caught it. It was tacked on, yet not mentioned.
