I was eating with an old family friend last night. beautiful decor in restaurant, staff very friendly and the curries were really beautiful. especially enjoyed some of the authentic dishes they offer instead of the usual Indian tariff. really beautifully seasoned, not too hot and many other aromas come through. good portions. very pleasant meal and one of the best Indians I ever had. really nice, if I weren't gone, I... Overall, the experience was very disappointing and I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. We felt rushed during both the starter and main course, with our meals being served in under 50 minutes. There was no offer of a wet towel, unlike the table next to us. The waiter served us without speaking, placing plates and cutlery on the table without making eye contact or exchanging any words – a level of service I have never seen before. The waitress' uniform was also inappropriate. The prawn starter was rubbery and overcooked, especially considering its price of nearly £9. Both main courses tasted the same, even though they were supposed to be different curries. Additionally, there was a strong smell of damp in the restaurant.
I have been going here since it opened. The food and service used to be excellent but it has steadily declined over the last few years. Tonight service was sloppy , chapatis served only when reminded by which time food had cooled down. Cold plates. No excuse as restaurant was not busy. Happy to sell drinks at extortionate prices though. Management need to take a long look at themselves or they won’t have any customers shortly. Get the standard back and get real with the drink prices. Same goes for Carriage’s bar. Way overpriced.
Great food , Great chefs Great service, Highly recommend this to everyone..best starters ,great paneer dish .great chicken dish . Best tandoori dishes ,
Never been disappointed with this place.Unlike many restaurants, they use the recommended amount of salt for health reasons and still the food is fantastic.Been going here since it opened .
Restaurant is lovely inside. Nice Indian music playing, too. My starter was vegetable pakora, which came with salad and two dips . Absolutely delicious. I can't say the same for the main though...I ordered chicken korma, and I have to say its the first time I've ever had to add salt to GET some flavour into it....totally bland,so much so, that I couldn't bring myself to put any more on my plate after the first spoonful..chicken was dry too, despite being in the sauce .......naan bread was lovely, but rice was sticky and dry ...had been really looking forward to this but its disappointing..I make a better korma recipe given to me by a chef a long time ago . Unfortunately, I won't be visiting again .... sorry ..
