This restaurant is absolutely stunning, with great food and lovely staff. I enjoyed a delicious sandwich with cheese and pickles. We will definitely be coming back to see Derek and Suzanne at this gem in Bristol. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Cosy Tea Pot And Collectables:
My group visited this restaurant on Easter Sunday and found it to be about half full. In order for the four of us to sit together, we moved a table for two a few meters closer to the next table. Suddenly, a man rushed out of the cafe, yelling at us and pointing to a poster on the wall, demanding that we leave. Despite the fact that our tables were not obstructing any walkways, we decided to comply with his request an... View all feedback.
We had a really disappointing visit today. we arranged to check, dogs are welcome, and when they had burst and were told they were coming as they had a table free. When we arrived there, a flustered lady told us that we could have the ersatztisch, but it would wait a long time. we decided it was the waiting time after a beautiful cream tee there worth 6 years ago. while I was sitting my 4 year old, I played with the sugar and salt caches and a gentleman who worked there, came by and grabbed my son who showed him very little respect or friendliness. the woman we first spoke with very angry, told us that we cannot have the chair for my daughter, where she was positioned and took her chair away. we were made to feel the most involuntary and were not at all impressed by the customer service and we have not even at the point of ordering food. the workers were stressed as they seemed to have too many tables to be finished with them, they need either more personal or less tables. as it turns out, they are dog friendly, but not recommended at all for young families.
A visit to this quaint tea shop did not disappoint. China crockery, varied menu with both savoury and cream teas and prices not to break the bank. Seating both inside and out to watch the hustle and bustle of Budleigh passing by in the autumn...sun. Well worth a visit especially for the new raspberry sponge ! Andrea
Myself and my husband popped in today for coffee and maybe some cake. It looked very cosy and pretty on the outside so thought we would stop and have a treat. We noticed that about a third of the tables had reservations signs on them...so we went to the counter to ask if there were any tables free. The lady who was serving at the counter turned to ask an older woman behind her (believe she may have been the manager) if we could have a table. We were met with a sharp, irritated response stating that they were no longer serving food or sandwiches (which we didn’t ask for or want). When we said it was just for a couple of coffees, the woman responded by telling us how busy she had been that day and how she didn’t have time for other customers at that moment in time as she couldn’t cope. She was very flustered and told us to go away and to try coming back again 20 minutes later, emphasising how stressed she was. It was all very strange so needless to say, we didn’t go back again.
Service was excellent and the ambiance was lovely but unfortunately the coffee was not very nice and the cheese scones obviously microwaved. Unlikely to return any time soon.
A stroll down Budleigh’s High Street and into Fore Street will take you to the Cosy Teapot just a few minutes from the beach. Its the only café in the shopping area where you can sit outside. A small stream running through the garden and...flower baskets courtesy of Budleigh in Bloom add to it’s charm. And if it’s not raining you can sit in the garden and watch the world walk by whilst enjoying a Devon cream tea served on china crockery. A hint of the past. From the well balanced menu there is something to suit all pockets and if you wish to remember that Greek holiday try the delicious feta cheese and roast vegetable tart. Sandwiches, Quiches, Pastries, Jacket Potatoes, Cakes Scones and Salads all to be enjoyed and prepared by Tony the Boss. The sea is only a short stroll away, and with the sunbrellas, the Cosy Tea Pot provides some welcome shade after the heat of the beach. The three young ladies, front of house, Cheryl, Helen and Jane provide the warm and friendly atmosphere that awaits you.
