The Original Q-Shack - Durham

An average place with a good grill. Nothing very special. Service is very fast and the prices are decent for what they offer. Every time I go here, I know what to expect quickly service and good food. I'm never impressed, but never hungry. Bands are good, pulled pig is just okay. Hush puppies are 4/5. If I could, I would rate the whole place 3.5 stars.

There was a line, but the service was fast and everything was nice and clean. My bf got the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and hush puppies, I got the cut turkey, I had to order it at the pound, so I got half a pound, Mac and cheese and deviled eggs. Everything was very good, it was a little expensive, but that was mainly because they did not sell the turkey as a plate (even if it was on the menu) and only through the pound.

Eat from here for the first time. We had the St. Louis ribs, Mac and cheese, baked beans, crispy greens, bush puppies and roasted okra. The ribs and beans were on the spot! The stars of the meal. The hush puppies were a little dry. Tastes good when immersed in the extra sauce that was given. Everything was good. I'm not a fan of okra, but I tried. My husband loves okra and for him it was a hit. Look forward to other items in the menu.

We stopped here by chance during the trip and it was a big little taste of the South. We tried the chicken, brisket, pulled pigs and ribs and they were all delicious. We have also sampled several pages and they have not disappointed. The order was at the counter, so it was nice and fast. We didn't have to wait through the table service and could continue on our road.

This place gets a solid five stars. It helped my anxious sole to have the large menu display outside the store. So many options, it was heaven. I recommend sharing a plate if traveling with a friend or partner! Hush puppies were out of this world. I think the secret is the shape?you taste a perfect blend of crunchy and chewy. I wish there was a Baby Back Rib option instead of St. Louis, but still so good!
