the silk street café is much more than just a museum café on a variety of ways. it is quite difficult to get a decent cup coffee in dublin that does not have money for one of the chains. no problem here the coffee is excellent and you do not even have to go inside thanks to their window service to the garden. eating is candid style, but a fusion of the middle eastern kitchen and is very tasty and given prices in the... What LAG76 doesn't like about Castle Road, Saggart Village:
Right in front of the gardens of Dublin Castle there is this place to eat, with inviting outdoor tables (obviously during the beautiful season). I found, sincerely, a lot of disorganization and confusion in order to order and prices, for service and the environment, I found them very dear! The food is also good but for the rest I did not find myself. I don't feel like recommending it, honestly! View all feedback.
Delicious! You order a main dish and get a choice of a few salads. I had a falafel main dish--that and the side dishes were all delicious. It is really pretty inside, lots of sunlight.
This is one of the best eating establishments anywhere in Ireland. The food is first class and the staff very polite and efficient. The owner, Ibrahim, is a very nice family man who oversees the restaurant to make sure everything goes smoothly. As a life long vegetarian I eat here regularly as the vegetarian food is also excellent. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and the staff excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to both my vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends. I take all my overseas visitors here for lunch and everyone of them have loved it.
Other than some ethnic places, I found most of the food in Dublin to be basic meat and potatoes, light on vegetables and salads. The Silk Road has a good variety of offerings, meat-based, vegetarian, and vegan. To be honest, it wasn't the best food I've ever tried (the veggies were canned, I think) but it was a nice meal, reasonably priced, beautifully presented, and I would go again and substitute salads for the vegetable dish.
Back to the cafe with family to celebrate birthday. Fabulous afternoon tea with mixed variety of cuisine. Savoury and sweat included. Variety of tea and coffee to choose from in a quite tasteful setting.
This is such a great spot. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and nice. We will definately be back soon.
