Contribute FeedbackStarfish Sushi in Downey offers a varied dining experience, with some patrons praising its delicious and fresh sushi, particularly the calamari, which stands out as a local favorite. While excellent service and a clean atmosphere are frequently noted, others report inconsistencies in food quality, including issues with temperature and flavor depth. Additionally, customer service has faced criticism, particularly regarding family-friendliness. Though the restaurant boasts attractive lunch specials and a cozy ambiance, recent reviews suggest a decline in certain menu offerings. Overall, Starfish Sushi remains a popular choice, but experiences can vary significantly.
The sushi was good, definitely a bomb back. The ramen is a pass, I learned my lesson?
Beautiful small place with a very cool ambience. Vegetarian options were plentiful and tasty. All the roles we tried were great, but the Sashimi was incredible. I've been at Cerritos for about 10 years to become a place I really love, but Starfish Sushi won me!! Great size, great price, good quality and no brain choice. I'll order this over the door.
The food (Sushi was freshly made service (Jenny was our attentive friendly server was great, although my husband was a little surprised that she automatically added the tip when the bill came. Apart from that, I would recommend the restaurant because the food was good:
It was the first day after the whole COVID hoopla for our grandchildren. We just wanted to sit a family in a pleasant environment to say how was your first day back to school after everything the world? in the last two years. Starfish Sushi loves all pleasant surroundings, great menu and the whole family?? the place. We all had a great time.
I have been visiting this sushi place for a couple of years and have noticed that within the last 2-3 service and quality of food has decreased. Today i was served miso soup two different times and both times it was room temperature or colder unlike before when it would be poured fresh from the pot. Teriyaki beef meat has also changed, and today the bento box was served completely separate in different plates all on one big tray. Sushi was great as always but not too sure I'll be going back.
