Bastards Bbq - Downey

I met up with some friends at this place for a drinks and dinner. This is my first time being in this little strip in Downy CA. Very nice place right next to two free public parking structures. Their beer selection isn't huge but it's nice plus they have other beer in a refrigerator in case you don't wants what's on tap.Their food isn't amazing and will leave it at ok nothing special really. The drink selection is what you would expect from a bar or pub—a pleasing variety that pairs well with the food. The staff is a breath of fresh air, especially after my recent experiences elsewhere, where service has been lacking. On the downside, the setup of ordering can be a bit odd. You place all your orders at the bar and then have them brought to your table, which somewhat limits your interaction with the waitstaff and can feel a bit cumbersome. As for the prices, they aren't outrageous; some items are a bit on the higher side while others are very reasonably priced. Overall, I recommend trying the food, soaking in the atmosphere, and enjoying another drink. Who can say they've had too many rounds? Not anyone I know!

Absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I went for brunch, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was hardly any wait time, and we had plenty of seating options, both indoors and outdoors. The food was fantastic, and the michelada was great, too! I ordered the chilaquiles, while my boyfriend had the breakfast tacos, and both dishes were excellent. The only downside was that my chilaquiles didn’t come with meat because they had run out, which was a bit disappointing. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We also tried the loaded mac and cheese, which was amazing!
