Welcoming and friendly staff, new menu with great country style food, very clean establishment and terrific service. Family owned and run with a very convivial atmosphere. Everything a local pub should be, we'll be back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Apple Tree Inn:
Continue to think give it another chance, go back, try it and always disappointed and waste money. It's barely ever open, unfortunately the last meal I had there which was average, the owner sat and talked the entire time as we tried to eat. View all feedback.
Lee herridge. I see your point but they are not home cooked. Trust me I should know. I know a guy who works there. Anyways then inn part of the place was... good but a bit crowded and small. I loved te food tho. And they have a couple TV's so that the children can watch some good ol Finding Nemo
I watched the Derby at this venue today. It was a fantastic place with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're in Donnybrook, you definitely have to give it a try.
Good service, quality food and well restored building.
Lovely feel about it and nice lady behind counter though went pear shaped as soon as you order something. Firstly after one glass of SSB each we apparently drank the hotel out of all types of SSB. Not a great range of beers on tap and for the food. Do yourself a favour and just don't. What it says you are ordering and what turns up on the plate is two different things. Firstly for a country pub you expect big servings. Well the main meals came out on what I understand to be entree or side plates. The two scotch fillets the wife and I ordered were not even close to medium rare or medium. More stewed than cooked. Sons sticky pork well over cooked and dry and his broccolini was well, well it was broccoli. Our sautéed cherry tomatoes was normal tomatoes quartered and could say sort of sautéed. Kids fish and chips took close to an hour to come out and was fish and wedges. Tired upset kids to add to our misery. I feel bad as the lovely lady who received our order and then went to the kitchen to make it did ask us if we were happy with our meal and I reluctantly said we were. In hindsight wish I had been more honest as this place really needs the honesty. I have never been more disappointed in a meal I have paid for. I feel for them as they must be struggling and you get the feeling they just can not afford a cook, good produce or even wine. We waiting almost an hour for our meal and it was quiet. I am a big eater and the plate was quite small though over half was uneaten.
