This place was fantastic! It was a very well maintained complex with several bedroom options, different pools depending on where you were in the complex saving you a long walk. It also has its own private gated beach access with parking and a snack bar. Sandpiper Cove is a gem. The beach was clean and less crowded than other places we have stayed. There are restrooms available next to ricks sand trap which makes it easy to access from the beach. Pools were all very clean and the kids loved all the swimming. The grounds are extremely well-kept. For those who love pickleball and tennis, they were resurfacing and updating the courts while we were there (July 15 2023). If you have the funds, I highly recommend renting a golf cart bc it is quite a trek to and from the beach—you have to cross a big intersection. We drove our vehicle each time which was kind of cumbersome. My one complaint is the cost—sandpiper cove is expensive and many of the condos need updates. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others who are vacationing with family.
Worst vacation so far! Can’t use the patio of the condo because it’s being worked on. Construction starts on the condo at 8am and quits at 5pm. I called about the noise and was told by the office this is the time of year owners do work on their condos. They also said they can’t tell owners when they can work on them. So I guess that means everybody just loves to spend their vacation listening to hammer drills and hammering instead of sleeping in because it is a vacation. They did offer to give me back two nights refund on a four night stay. We had just stayed one night and then would have to scramble and find somewhere else to stay. Why rent it out with construction going on? So I have to pay full price for a horrible vacation? Not one word was mentioned in the booking but then why would they? No one would rent it. I will never stay here again if this is how the owners and Sandpiper Cove do the people who pay good money to stay at their place. And I will also recommend anyone else who’s looking to stay here to find somewhere else.
Absolutely LOVE this complex! Keep in mind all of the units are independently owned, so the management company experience and amount of updates can vary wildly from one unit to the next. The complex itself is one of a kind! Spread out over 43 acres, this walk friendly development features 5 pools 2 heated , a par 3 pitch and putt golf course, a canal great views! , tennis/pickleball courts, and a few communal grills. Some units are dog friendly, some are not. Some have a private washer and dryer, some smaller units do not. Some units are beach front, many are a relatively short walk to the beach you can also drive across the street and park near the beach, space permitting . I like the gated entrance with 24 hour staffing; I 've always felt very safe. Some units include a beach set up with their rentals beach service two chairs and an umbrella , or you can rent your own daily if not included/desired. See the guys under the red OFFICE umbrella by the base of the main stairway to the beach this is a seasonal offering. The complex features an on site higher end restaurant Louisiana Lagniappe and also a cash only beach bar Rick 's featuring great casual food and beverage options the latter is seasonal . Rick 's also features restrooms and outdoor showers to clean up after your day at the beach comes to an end. The Louisiana Lagniappe is located on the harbor, and is an official stop for the Destin Water Taxi seasonal call for availability , so you can take a unique form of transportation to and from the restaurants and shops located at HarborWalk Village. Target and Winn Dixie are just a short drive away for picking up your groceries and necessities, and there are plenty of restaurants and beach shops nearby. If you want a nice destination walk, take a stroll to Capriccio Cafe for your morning coffee and/or baked goods great crepes, too! , or swing by The Local Market to pick up breakfast or a lunch you can have packaged for the beach both are located off Gulf Shore Drive . If you 're up for a short drive and looking for great area restaurants, I recommend Mimmo 's for Italian, the Donut Hole for great breakfasts/home cooking, Burrito Del Sol for casual/quick serve Mexican eat there or take to go , and the Front Porch for great ambiance ocean front dining and seafood. Lulu 's also has a great vibe live music on weekend evenings , and is located on the harbor. If you aren 't a fan of the high rise feel and like the ability to walk/bike/take a golf cart to nearby points of interest, this complex is for you!

Our condo was very well decorated and maintained and the starter supplies they give you give you a break from going straight to the store except for food. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful and everyone we met that lived at that complex was very nice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay again!
I can't say enough about this amazing place! The rooms are awesome. Front and back porch. Very clean. Ours (8121) was great. Perfect use of the space. Good little kitchen. Plenty of seats for the four of us and a guest. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the private beach is absolutely beautiful. Not crowded at all.
