When the meal was delivered I couldn’t be... read more I had a meal here on Friday tea time with a girlfriend. I ordered scampi and chips and my friend ordered the meat pie. When the meal was delivered I couldn’t believe my eyes, the chips were black and burnt and the peas were like bullets. I complained to the young lad who was waiting the tables, he was very pleasant and said he would get us some fresh chips. Our plates were not taken away and when the fresh chips arrived I had eaten my scampi. I was so shocked that the chef sent these meals out with black burnt chips. When I went to pay, I told the landlord that I was very disappointed with the whole meal, he didn’t even offer any reduction in the bill. I will not be going there again.

Unfortunately it was a bi... read more Having read the reviews I was looking forward to the Pie of the Day. For me its not just the content, the pastry is just as important. Unfortunately it was a big dissappointment. Whilst the veg was good the Rabbit pie could best be described as a soggy mess. It was dumped on top of the mash. The pastry was soft and broken up with no constituency. It may have come out of an oven with crispy pastry once in its life, but what I received looked like it had come straight out of a microwave. It was also swimming in over seasoned gravy. I appreciate it was 4.00pm on a Sunday, but this was not a cheap meal. So you expect it to be right.

The ho... read more I absolutely loved this pub! The first night we played darts, watched the football, and had a drink. The second night we had a meal and it was fantastic. The homemade burger, scampi, and fish and chips were all delicious. Even the onion rings were amazing. The service was friendly and welcoming. It's a fabulous local village pub and I can't wait to visit again. Keep up the great work, guys!
