Tavern Uptown - Denver

This cafe has long been my choice for business lunches. The food is great and always pleases my customers when we go there. I never have to worry about them liking the food. However, the service is a real problem here. Today we even came later so that we could have time to discuss our business and not have to battle the noise of a crowded eating establishment. Our waiter was Derrick, He has the personality of a bill collector. He took our order and even knew all the options available so I would imagine he is not all that new. When he brought us our food it was very hot and tasty. We both remarked about how hot and good the food was. Unfortunately that was the last time we saw Derrick. He never came back to check if we need our drinks refilled nor ask if the food was to our liking. My guest had to leave to get back to work because Derrick did not come back with the check. I had bragged about my favorite dessert, but that was a lost cause too. I actually used my phone to call their number to say I was waiting on their patio and no one was around to complete the dinner. I have a frequent buyers card that I have used repeatedly. Derrick actually looked at it and asked, 'what is this? ' REALLY? Nothing was offered for dessert and the bill was brought back without a thank you or a smile. On a $34.56 lunch I only tipped $3.00 and that was because of the quality of the food. I am sure the chef won 't see a dime of that tip, but I wanted to go on record that at least he earned the tip not the waiter. I am now embarrassed that I spoke highly of the meals because that certainly was not what we experienced. Very sad. This is not the first time I have had poor service, but it may well have been the last. Three strikes and you are out.

The Tavern Uptown is a fun local spot to hang out at. They have a HUGE back patio and a bowling ally!!! I like it way better than the Tavern Downtown. The food is always good (just your typical bar food) and they have a lot of TV's to watch games or whatever on. It has that fun, local neighborhood hang out spot vibe which is nice.

Best wings I've had in a while. Food was great, drinks were fantastic (we had blackberry Moscow Mules?? Mmmmmmm... . Bartending service was a little slow and it can get a little crowded in there, but overall we really liked it and will definitely be back.

Pretty good place to eat. The courtyard area is my favorite place to eat there. On occasion you get the drunk preppy jocks in there making fools of themselves but this is a great place to eat for sure. The only thing I wish was different was there being another set of bathrooms outside.

Met a bunch of my local friends here for Sunday lunch The Volcano burger was awesome and they have a huge choice of sides.
