While some diners have found the food to be underwhelming and not quite living up to the hype, others rave about the incredible flavors and quality of the dishes, particularly the bison steaks and Rocky Mountain oysters. The ambiance of the restaurant, filled with historic memorabilia and an old-world charm, adds to the overall appeal. While the price point may be a bit high for some, the Buckhorn Exchange remains a must-visit destination for those looking to sample exotic meats in a truly historic setting.
If you are looking for a culinary experience that brings you back in time, the Buckhorn Exchange in Denver is the perfect place to go. The oldest restaurant...
Wow. What an attitude. Founded in 1893, I am not sure that much has been done to update it. That's perfect. Tons of taxidermy on the walls that the scene....
Steak was overcooked get the Buffalo!!!!!! Waiter had a condescending tenor!!!!
Great food and an awesome atmosphere. Good experience.
I ordered the beef dinner for two (2 lbs) and here are my thoughts: the salad presentation was poor and unimaginative, the beef was tough, the garlic potato mash was tasteless, and the rolls were hard. I have been coming to this restaurant since the 1980s and the quality of the food seems to be getting worse. The venue is fun and colorful, however. I like bringing guests here for the decor, but not for the culinary experience. I would recommend this restaurant for the venue only, not for a great culinary experience. For better dining options, consider trying Keans Chophouse (NYC) or Peter Lugers (NYC).
