James Grill Cafe - Denham Springs

I stopped by for breakfast and tried the chicken fried steak, which was delicious. The biscuit and gravy were also a must-have. My girlfriend had a vegetable omelet that was filled with veggies and she really enjoyed it. The service was excellent, with the staff coming to our table as soon as we sat down and being very polite and friendly. The owner even stopped by to ask us how our food was. I definitely plan on returning to this restaurant.

I visited the restaurant in the morning when it was not very crowded. The waitress who served me was not very attentive and spent a lot of time talking to other staff members, so another waitress had to step in. The restaurant itself is quite old and run-down, but I must say that the food was excellent! The prices are reasonable as well.

I used to frequent this restaurant, but the quality and service have steadily declined over time. I was hopeful that things would improve, but our last two visits were disappointing. Today (10/23), my husband's sausage gravy was cold and my pancake was burnt. The waitress never came back to check on us after serving our food. Our family will not be returning.

Good Southern American food. I had gravy and biscuits. The waitstaff was polite and sociable. I would definitely go back when I am in the area. The prices was very reasonable.

Haven't eaten here in 5 years, previous owners daughter cooked burned pancakes. We did not go back until September 13, 2022, tried them again. Sorry to say their lunch meal has gotten expensive and quality of food is terrible. At $12.99 we won't go back, our waitress was not friendly. We can eat all you can eat at Golden Corral for $9.99. We were hoping things had changed, the only change was the place was cleaner and plenty of help. Could be a nice country type of atmosphere if they could cook good quality food. Very disappointing!
