This is our go-to place for dimsum and Cantonese style dishes. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent. Located in a strip mall and while interior is somewhat dated, the food and friendly service is what keeps us as regulars. The ladies know the special dietary requests I need and often if I forget to specify, they will remember and ask me. Vegan friendly upon request. View all feedback.
What Ava Spinka doesn't like about Lotus Chinese Restaurant:
Got the set menu for 3, this was pretty ho hum north American Chinese food. The sweet and sour pork was pretty solid, not too sweet and syrupy like some places, the egg rolls were pretty good, the fried rice was weird with shredded ice berg lettuce in it, chow mein was super saucey and soggy, almond chicken had almost no almond flavour and a ton of deep fried batter and the beef chop suey was ok but nothing special.... The Lotus Chinese Restaurant came highly recommended by a friend so when we were in the neighborhood we decided to enjoy a dim sum lunch there. We ordered haw gow, sew mai, sticky rice, beef tripe and pork steamed with bean curd. The haw gow arrived first and was comparable to haw gow in other Chinese restaurants. The sew mai lacked the flavor, appearance (no crab row), texture or the taste of traditional sew mai. The lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice was obviously old and had a crust on the outside of the fragrant rice and lacked the traditional ingredients. The beef tripe bore no resemblance to the beef tripe that I've been accustomed to. Finally the pork steamed with bean curd was probably frozen for too long a time as the vast portion of the bean curd would not accept the steam and remain dry and tough. Overall I would say that this restaurant simply doesn't sell much of their dim sum items so they remain in the freezer for too long. It goes without saying that it will be a long time (if ever) they we return.
We decided to give this restaurant a try for take-out while visiting my father in North Delta.I arrived and was greeted warmly. I chose to order the "set for 3". The food was ready within a few minutes and was delicious. The quantity and quality of food was outstanding. We'll definitely be ordering from here again.
This place hands down has the best dim sum you can get in all of Surrey, not only is the food amazing it's it really cheap as well. Monday-Friday the dim sum is only $3.95 from 10am - 3 pm which is one of the cheapest prices I have found. I can usually spend around $20 and have enough food for 2 people. I am craving this all the time. Highly recommend
I have been their many times for lunch and dinner. It is my mother's go to place, she loves the hot & sour soup. The deep fried squid is excellent - one of my favourites. The food is always hot and fresh. Sometimes I just walk-in and order take-out and that prepare the food much quicker than most restaurant.
The meal was totally awesome. Very friendly, and happy to please. Just love the food. The atmosphere was great. Just a little restaurant with a big atmosphere.
