Emmy's Time Out Tavern - DeLand

We went out to Emmy’s time out tavern tonight. They were super busy even though we got there early. We didn’t have to wait too long to be seated, but somehow we were split between two servers. They accidentally forgot our soup and salad that come with every meal and the red cabbage I order to go with my meal. I ordered the prime rib and My husband ordered the delmonico steak. Before we were done with our meals, I politely asked if we could have the soup and salad to go. They gave us a huge salad, two soups, and a side of red cabbage to go with the rest of our leftovers. Then our server told us that Emmy was buying us dinner for the mistake! We had to scrounge together $15 cash and a $10 Starbucks gift card for the tip! The Food was AMAZING and we have at least two more meals worth in the fridge. Before we left I thanked Emmy and I let her know we were there to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. Wonderful food, very generous portions, and an amazing owner!

Emmy's is fantastic! The staff, the food, everything! Have been going there for many years and went last night with a large group to celebrate our brother-in-law's 90th birthday. He and everyone in our family enjoyed it.

I've heard about this place for years. Finally went there last week. I knew the moment I walked in the door and was met by this beautiful older woman dressed like a Hollywood star it had to be Emmy herself. Of course it was. Her wide smile was as glorious as the meal itself. She sat us. We had a wonderful dinner. Her decades long best friend (Jeanie) was our waitress. We heard the restaurant story, met family members, laughed, smiled and gorged. Fantastic is an understatement. Go to EMMY'S... and yes, I like my prime rib RARE!
