my wife and I had a reservation for eating in free Saturday night at 5:45. we arrived early and because it was too cold to sit outside, they also had bar seats. the service was excellent and very attentive at the bar. we ordered both sashimi and the sortiment was delicious. we were in this restaurant several times and were never disappointed. excellent location where the park structure is comfortable on the side stre... What User doesn't like about Shimbashi Izakaya:
In all, we had 18 different dishes and all of them were very tasty and well executed. The staff is competent and knowledgeable. The outside deck is a great place for a meal. View all feedback.
There is a garage building within the same structure that you need to pay. Being in crowded center of Del Mar getting in and out is a factor in choosing over other Japanese restaurants. They have a nice outside sitting option which I recommend. The menu is extensive which I am not a big fan of but many of the items we tried were good. Some dishes were a little salty.
Authentic Japanese Izakaya. 4.5 Stars. Came to celebrate my birthday with 2 of my friends. Loved the oysters on the half shell. Happy Hour menu is large and great value. Sushi was fresh. I'm a big fan of Kaki Fry (Fried Oysters) batter was a little doughy which many places do. Overall solid experience in Del Mar Area.
Food was very good, welcoming horrible but our requested inside table finally achieved after weird banter with barely English-speaking server women. The service was weird hurried ordering off of eMenu hard but the pics nice. Would rec for very good food presentation quality.
Service was phenomenal, eating was great, windows around make for a perfect sunset view. check it out if they still have it.
Great dog friendly outdoor dining. Our go to for Japanese food. Staff is so friendly and efficient.
