Excellent, authentic Japanese sushi with some interesting house rolls. If you like it a little spicy, try the Firecracker roll. Beware the wasabi ? they use the real Japanese stuff, not the bland, diluted ?wasabi? you get in most American sushi places.Breathe carefully and enjoy! What Gavin Walker doesn't like about Toki Hibachi Sushi:
Are server went outside during serving us and I had ordered a bento box and the flaming roll that comes on fire for an experience for my friend waited 20 mins with the chef ringing his bell are server finally came back and went straight to the back to bring me my food my bento box was completely cold and the flaming roll wasn’t even on fire all you could hear was the sizzling and the server didn’t even open the tin f... The egg fried rice with vegetables and chicken was very tasty. The portion sizes are more than most people can eat. That helps offset the price of the hibachi grill tables but it was still 90 dollars for three hibachi orders fixed at the grill tables.Which includes the tip in the bill already. Neat atmosphere though with big flames and interaction with the cook.
My salmon was raw. The bill for three of us was $81. They charge a 20% fee up front for sitting at the grill area. They call it a gratuity on the bill, but it's not optional. We won't be back. There are other places with better food.
3 stars because the firecracker roll did not disappoint. It was delectable. The house salad was chunks of iceberg lettuce swimming in dressing. The server was friendly but was not prompt or attentive.
The food was good. I have to give them that. The atmosphere was lacking. The restaurant seemed to be having problems with their electricity causing the lights to majorly flicker the entire time I was there. The staff was generally uninterested. Iordered a beer and got it in a bottle without a glass. Everything in the restaurant came across as dingy and vaguely sticky. Idon't expect I'll be back in spite of the good food.
